Jurassic Coast
The Jurassic coast, Britain’s only natural World Heritage Site, depicts ‘a walk through
time’ spanning the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. It is a classic location for field studies in geography, geology, biology and history. Come here for a residential fieldtrip directly related to work taught in class and the curriculum in Geography, Geology, Biology and Environmental Science. Bring those text books to life. Is there a more effective way to complete your practical coursework than on a residential course?
The recent Select Committee Report on ‘Education Outside the Classroom’ states: “The Committee has become convinced of the value of education outside the classroom…. Outdoor learning supports academic achievement, for example through fieldwork projects, as well as the development of “soft” and social skills, which are particularly hard to reach children.” View the full report at http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm/cmeduski.htm
Take advantage of the enthusiasm of our lecturers with their local knowledge. We offer a broad range of residential courses for students of all ages. Our Field sessions are curriculum linked to provide students with appropriate practical field experience and skill.
Alternatively run your own programme. To those we offer full board, accommodation and indoor classroom facilities. They can also call upon our tutors for their special knowledge of our outdoor classroom.
